Nel centro di Roma c’è ancora qualche tombino della S.T.I.M.A. di Ostia

Si trattava della Società Trattori Italiani e Macchine Agricole Italia costruita sul litorale romano durante il ventennio (1927) per la produzione di mezzi agricoli. Con l’autarchia la fabbrica viene convertita per la produzione di ferro partendo dalla sabbia di Ostia, ricca di ferrite. Dopo la guerra la fabbrica diventa Breda Meccanica Romana e inizia a produrre carrozze ferroviarie. Lo stabilimento chiuderà nel 1979 e, dopo lungo abbandono (è visibile, abbandonato, ne “La voce della luna” di Fellini), sarà riconvertito in un cinema multisala.

Tor San Michele is a fortified tower built in XVI century on the seaside of Rome
The project seems to be by Michelangelo Buonarroti and the architect was Giovanni Lippi
